Professor Jeanine Centuori recently explored the intersection of art and design in an interview with Shoutout LA. As part of the Los Angeles based Voyage Group of Magazines, Shoutout LA features entrepreneurs and creatives as they share their stories. The interview touched on the beginnings of Centuori’s practice with Russell Rock, UrbanRock Design, and experiences across the landscapes and communities of Los Angeles.
As Centuori notes, “I formed our design and art studio, “UrbanRock Design” in 2000, shortly after we moved to Los Angeles. We decided to create a vision for our work, and then seek that work in whatever means possible. Our vision was to be able to work closely with communities towards the creation of public art and design projects that expressed their shared values. ”
Shoutout LA is part of the Los Angeles based Voyage Group of Magazines and the flagship publication, VoyageLA was started in 2015. Focusing on a wide array of topics, the magazine aims to inspire important conversations within the community and do so in way that puts artists, creatives and local businesses at the center of these conversations.
