The Writing Department held its first PWD Open Mic on November 17, 2016 in the Entertainment Media Screening Room with a lively and engaging performance of poetry, short-short fiction, and creative nonfiction in live five-minute spots. Readers included students Tricia Lopez and Tiana Wolfe, as well as faculty members Laurel DiGangi, Elizabeth von Schoff, Raida Gatten, and Reuben Ellis. Faculty member Rich Matzen read from his forthcoming chapbook Going. The PWD Open Mic series has been created to mark the launch of the new Writing Department degree program in Professional Writing.
