Spring Semester Update from President Steele | January 5, 2022

Dear Campus Community:

I sincerely hope that you had a healthy and happy Holiday Season and are looking forward to a better year than 2021.

Considering the spread of Covid-19 Omicron variant, we will commence the Spring 2022 semester with online instruction on January 17th. Classes will be held remotely through January 31, 2022.  Our intent is to return to in-person instructions on February 1st.  COVID-19 Testing will continue Wednesdays as communicated by the Health Services Team. Effective immediately, access to campus will be limited to essential personnel through January 31, 2022. Please contact [email protected] for all campus access questions.

On another note, I am pleased to share with you some good news: after 3 months of diligent teamwork by our Financial Advisor, John Phan, Seta Javor and myself, we have successfully closed the refinancing of our $23 million debt, as well as the approval of a $6.5 million line of credit. As mentioned at our Town Hall meeting on December 9, 2021, together with a lower interest rate and extended loan period, this refinancing will enhance Woodbury’s financial flexibility going forward.

Again, I would like to applaud the dedication and additional work you all took on in 2021 under very difficult circumstances. Our students are very fortunate to have individuals like you who are very dedicated to seeing that their education is given the highest priority.

Best,

David
