New Front Gate Technology - Entrance Protocol

Dear Woodbury Campus Community,

As some of you may be aware, campus security officers began to log your entrance and exit information earlier this summer. These logs are an essential resource if our community experiences a positive COVID test and will need to assist local health departments with contract tracing.

To expedite the sign-in process, the Burbank campus has installed new technology to automatically log your information through an electronic beam. To complete this process, all community members will need to have a small sticker mounted on the interior of the driver’s side windshield. Please note that these stickers will not be handed out and installed upon your arrival at the front gate during the first two weeks of the fall 2020 semester.

On Monday, September 7th, the system will go live, and security officers will no longer need to log faculty, staff, or students’ information. During the sticker installation process, we kindly ask for your patience as we have hundreds of stickers to apply. Students will be prioritized during this process. As such, an announcement will be sent to our faculty and staff, providing instructions on when to have their vehicle sticker installed.

As of now, please continue to utilize the left entrance lane. Starting on September 7th, the left entrance lane will serve visitors and vendors. The right lane will serve our faculty, staff, and students. This means you will be driving in using the right lane. A reminder will be sent the week before.

Please note, all community members still need a valid parking permit to enter the campus.

Again, this technology will help the University assist County Health Officials if contact tracing must be conducted. If you have any questions, please contact [email protected]. We look forward to expending your arrival in a safe and secure manner this semester.
