Collegiate Entrepreneur Organization Begins a New Year

On August 28, the Woodbury chapter of the Collegiate Entrepreneur Organization (CEO) organized its first meeting. In a full classroom, students from across the university gathered to prepare for a year filled with fun and fascinating events.

The current board members introduced themselves, and CEO President David Manikad briefly shared events for the semester. All CEO events will be based upon the organization’s core values and mission statement, while keeping an entrepreneurial mindset. CEO plans to continue its collaborations with other on-campus student organizations such as the Armenia Student Association, BP WOW and the Accounting Society.

CEO President, David Manikad, stated that the organization’s goal is to focus on building a tight-knit community while utilizing accessible student contacts, networks and resources.
Some of the events CEO plans to engage in this year are:

  • An indoor-karting night at Racer’s Edge in Burbank, for team building and community formation
  • Collaborations with the Accounting Society for Bowling Night and the Campus Activity Board’s Pasillo de Los Muertos and ASA for their Halloween Turn-up and various business organizations for an Escape Room event.
  • Collaboration with the Saudi Arabian Student Association with their September event.

There are several off-campus events in which CEO plans to engage as well, such as clean-ups, campaigns for causes, mixers and social events alongside local council members and politicians. Manikad also emphasized plans to get CEO involved in this year’s Lotus Festival in Echo Park, organizing a St. Patty’s Day mixer/social, and of course, the annual Baron Business Plan Competition in spring 2020.

The 2019-2020 CEO Board consists of:
David Manikad, President
Guillermo Abendano, Vice President
Daniel Atlan, VP Marketing
