Interior Design student Anna Grubinski Ossyra and architecture student Lizbet Romero each received the third-place prize Affinity Award in this year’s 2×8 Competition. Ossyra’s project is titled MATERIALITY OF THINGS, and Romero’s ORNAMENTS OF DISPOSAL. Each student will be awarded a $1,500 cash prize for their achievement. Other third-place winners include students from the Southern California Institute of Architecture, Cap Poly Pomona, and Pasadena City College.

According to Archinect, who covered the competition, for the third-place prize category, “the jury selected five student winners for their variation in design approach, ‘articulation of environment, strong analysis of site and condition’ as well as strong interior detailing.”
