School of Business Alumni Advisory Council Elects Leadership

In Fall 2022, the School of Business formed an Alumni Advisory Council with the goal of enhancing the bond between alumni amongst one another and the School of Business. Comprised of School of Business alumni from the 1950s to the 2010s, the Council was also formed to engage current students with alumni in a variety of ways to set the tone for future engagement. During the Council’s first year, they planned three events including the “Thriving Through the Recession” webinar in the Spring, the Annual Alumni Reunion in conjunction with the School of Business Advisory Board in the Summer, and Connect & Reflect: Alumni + Student Meet & Greet this Fall. Additionally, the Council spearheaded the creation of an Alumni + Student Mentorship Program for School of Business students, which is being ran as a pilot program this Fall.

With the completion of their first year, the Council has now elected their inaugural Chair and Vice Chair. The School of Business is pleased to announce that Sofia Toro (Class of 1998) will serve as Chair and Alice Rogers (Class of 1958) will serve as Vice Chair. Sofia and Alice will work with the School of Business Dean’s Office to provide leadership to the Council, develop initiatives aimed at increasing alumni engagement, and find new and exciting ways to further engage our current students with our alumni to provide them with a vast network for years to come.

Chair of the Alumni Advisory Council Sofia Toro.
