Lynn Okimura

Adjunct Faculty, Department of Animation


Lynn is an Animator and Educator of Animation and Media Arts. As an industry professional, her work includes animation, visual effects, puppetry, and mixed media projects for Disney, HBO, Secret Plan Studios, National Geographic, The Science Channel and The Cooking Channel. She is dedicated to sharing the artistic and creative process with students of all ages, abilities and backgrounds. Before joining Woodbury University, she has been an Adjunct Professor and Instructor at the UCLA Film School, CalArts, and US Performing Arts, all where graduates move on to work at leading animation, film, visual effects and game studios. As a Teaching Artist in Residence with The Music Center in Los Angeles County and The Segerstrom Center’s Arts Teach program in Orange County, she instructs professional development workshops on Arts Integration for educators and creates Animation / Media Arts residencies (K-12) that integrate social-emotional learning and other subjects across the curriculum from language arts and social studies, to STEAM curriculum.
