Woodbury University is pleased to announce our new partnership with Dale Kietzman University (DKU). Students from DKU can transfer to Woodbury University located in Burbank, California at a special tuition rate! 

As a DK University student, you’ll automatically qualify for a special scholarship, offering $4,000 which is applied to your tuition balance for the degree program of your choosing! You may also qualify for additional scholarships, including our Undergraduate and Graduate Merit Scholarships.

Graduate Scholarships:

Applicants to Architecture graduate programs may qualify for institutional scholarships and/or assistantships, which may be awarded by the School of Architecture committee upon review of the completed application and supporting documents (2 letters of recommendation, resume, personal statement, transcripts). Institutional scholarships range from $8,000-$20,000, and assistantships range from $3,000-$6,000.

MBA students who apply for our admission may now qualify for a merit scholarship of up to $20,000. The MBA merit awards are based on your undergraduate GPA (GPA is not cumulative and is based solely on the degree awarding college/university):

  • GPA of 3.7 to 4.0 earns $20,000
  • GPA of 3.40 to 3.69 earns $18,000
  • GPA of 2.95 to 3.39 earns $12,000
  • GPA of 2.50 to 2.94 earns $8,000

Admissions Requirements – Freshman Students

Prospective international students who are current high school seniors and have not graduated from high school at the time of university application. A high school equivalency certificate or GED can be considered on an individual basis. As an international freshman applicant, there are only five steps you need to complete in order to start your future at Woodbury University!

Select and submit one of the following applications along with an $85 non-refundable application fee.

WOODBURY APPLICATION

In order to complete your application, all required sections of the Woodbury Application must be complete, including submission of required admissions documents uploaded through the page. If you apply using the Woodbury Application, a Common Application is not required.

COMMON APPLICATION

In order to complete your application, all required sections must be submitted on the Common Application website, including required supplemental questions. If you apply using the Common Application, a Woodbury Application is not required.

High school transcripts that include 11th grade are required for all applicants who have not yet graduated at the time of application. Upon acceptance, and prior to enrollment, a final official transcript indicating graduation must be submitted.

All foreign transcripts must be accompanied by an English translation. Upon receipt of official foreign transcripts in original language and English translation, Woodbury University will complete an evaluation to validate US degree equivalency through a credential evaluation organization.

  • Minimum TOEFL of 61 (ibt)
  • Minimum IELTS of 6.0
  • Duolingo score of 90

OR

  • Completion of a transferable English composition course (non-ESL) with a grade of C or better, from an accredited and approved college or university
  • Completion of an accredited English language program with the highest proficiency level, from the Commission on English Language Program Accreditation (CEA), or the American Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET).

The submission of a portfolio is required for Animation applicants and highly recommended for Graphic Design majors. Priority Deadline: March 1

A Form I-20 is generated after an international applicant has been admitted and has accepted their offer of admission by submitting their nonrefundable commitment deposit and Statement of Intent. The I-20 processing step requires the following documentation to be submitted:

  • Passport– Submit a copy of applicants’ passport, along with that of any dependents who will apply for an F-2 visa.
  • Bank Statement– Bank Statement issued no earlier than 6 months from enrollment date. Optional at the time of application submission. Financial support must be sufficient to cover student expenses for one full academic year. Bank statements must be original, and on letterhead from a checking, savings, or time deposit account. Brokerage (stock funds), real estate, or any other non-liquid assets are not acceptable. All bank statements must be in English and in U.S. dollar currency or its foreign equivalence. A Sponsor Form is required for any document which is not in the name of the applicant.

I-20 INTERNATIONAL STUDENT SPONSOR FORM

  • Sponsor I-20 Form is to be completed by international students who are being sponsored by someone other than themselves.

TRANSFER I-20 FORM

  • Transfer I-20 Form is only required for applicants who are currently in the United States with a valid form I-20 from another institution.

Submission of falsified documentation will result in university admission denial or termination after enrollment.

Woodbury University is test optional. Freshman applicants are not required to submit SAT I or ACT scores, but can submit to help strengthen their applications. Contact your testing center to have your scores submitted and reference Woodbury University code listed below.

Woodbury University is a member of The Architecture Centralized Application Service (ArchCAS), a marketplace for prospective architecture students to research participating architecture programs and apply to as many participating Master’s in Architecture programs as they desire with one application portal.

Submit certified English translation of all non-English documents along with official transcripts. Woodbury University will complete a course-by-course foreign credential evaluation from a NACES-approved organization.

School of Architecture

Electronically submit a one-or-two-page essay via our online application that describes your educational and/or professional background, and your reason for pursuing a graduate architectural education at Woodbury’s School of Architecture.

Master of Science Architecture ONLY
Research Statement

Submit a one-or-two-page essay outlining your specific area(s) of interest and identifying any faculty members you feel could serve as an advisor for your work. We are only able to accommodate students whose research interests match that of a faculty member who is able to serve as an advisor.

Electronically submit a professional resume or curriculum vitae via our online application system. This information should list your academic research, professional experience, and/or published works.

School of Architecture

All graduate design applicants are required to submit a portfolio of creative work conveying the scope of their design sensibilities when applying for the Master of Architecture (M.Arch.), Master of Interior Architecture (M.I.A.), Master of Landscape Architecture (M.L.A.), Master of Science in Architecture (M.S.Arch.), and Master of Science in Architecture, Real Estate Development (M.S.Arch. RED) programs.
