Students produce a comprehensive architectural project based upon a building program and site that includes the development of programmed space, demonstrating an understanding of structural and environmental systems, life-safety provisions, wall sections, building assemblies, and the principles of sustainability. The studio is open to fourth- and fifth-year students. The last half of the semester is devoted to design development.
The final two years of the Bachelor of Architecture program ask students to make individual choices about the kind of studio and seminar work s/he engages in, moving through a comprehensive design studio. The following student work was completed as part of a comprehensive design studio. Studio Prerequisites: ARCH 384, Design Studio 3B: Structure, Systems, Space and Form; ARCH 326, Structures 1; and ARCH 425, Environmental Systems. Co-requisite: ARCH 464, Systems Integration
