The Woodbury School of Architecture is proud to announce that junior B.Arch student Ruby Pedrazzetti was recently awarded the 2022 Pasadena-Foothill AIA Chapter Jean Roth Driskel Scholarship.
“I was pleased to receive the good news and so were my family, friends and supporters,” Ruby says. “Since being awarded the scholarship, I have felt more confident moving forward on my journey as an architect, designer, and artist. I am passionate about exploring my love for art and architecture.”
Ruby is currently working alongside curator and architect Lauren Van Der Veen as an intern and assistant, actively assisting her in curating art shows for Sole Folks Art Lab in Leimert Park Los Angeles, as well as starting new architectural design projects. The art show will showcase East Coast afro-futurist artist, poet, and activist Ainsley Burrows and will celebrate immigrants’ stories.
Ruby’s plans for post-graduation? “I want to constantly be massaging the art and architecture world together until my practices work symbiotically,” she says. “I intend to keep engaging with communities in need of more design resources and help open people’s minds and hearts through space, art, and storytelling.”
