T38 Studio is an architecture practice currently based in New York City. Their work is focused on residential projects and collaborations with artists and art Institutions. T38 Studio moves between local circumstances and global ambitions, between techniques based on habit and a mixing of conflicting values and practices: developer versus architect; planner versus builder; local versus global. The studio pays attention to the relationships that exist between the various spaces, ecologies and environments that shape the lives of individuals and broader communities. Their work has been exhibited at the Storefront for Art and Architecture in NYC, Crown Hall At IIT Chicago, the Boston Society of Architects, Archivo and El Eco Museum in Mexico City.

Alfonso Medina graduated from the Instituto Tecnólogico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) with a degree in architecture having also studied at the Universitat Politécnica de Catalunya. In 2005 he established Taller 38, focused in real estate development and construction, which to this day has built over 30 different housing projects. In 2009 he established T38 studio, an architecture, design and research office based in New York City and Tijuana. In 2010 he graduated from the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-ARC) with a Master in Design and Research.

Joseph Ruiz Tapia studied in Barcelona and Berlin and graduated from Woodbury University in San Diego in 2013 with a Bachelors of Architecture, from where he was merited the Frankel Award for best undergraduate degree project. Prior to becoming the office director of T38 Studio New York in 2013, Joseph worked at CroStudio in Tijuana and San Diego. Joseph has been project leader for T38 Studio in various projects mainly focused on housing in Mexico, Boston, Denver, New York and London.
