A highly anticipated Burbank Philharmonics event will bring together works by Beethoven and Mendelssohn, and couture gowns by students to mark a 28th season gala opening concert. In development of the gown project with the Burbank Philharmonic Orchestra, the Woodbury University Fashion Design Department has continued a collaborative and creative process to produce high-end tailored performance wear. The learning outcome for the students during this project entails real-world design experience, community outreach and recognition, as well as one-on-one interaction with refined artists and performers. Engaging the students in a project with lofty goals and the highest standards always has the result of raising the bar of their studies while inviting them to take risks and explore their individual aesthetics. The evening will feature five outstanding original performance gowns created by Woodbury University students in the Fashion Design program.
