Join us April 25 as we celebrate the incredible work of our fashion design students at our Fashion Show during our MADE at Woodbury event. Woodbury University’s annual fashion runway serves as a platforms from our student designers to exhibit their creativity but also functions as a real-world simulation of the fashion industry.
This event involves our students in every stage, from conceptualization to execution, allowing them to navigate the complexities of a high-profile runway show. By actively participating in tasks such as garment preparation, model coordination, and event management, students gain invaluable practical skills that transcend the classroom. This event becomes a transformative educational journey ensuring that our students graduate with a holistic grasp of the industry they are poised to enter.

Woodbury University is thrilled to announce Academy Award-winning costume designer Ruth E. Carter as the 2026 Fashion Show honoree
and Commencement Speaker.
With an illustrious career spanning over four decades, Carter has revolutionized costume design through her groundbreaking work on films including Black Panther, Malcolm X, Selma, and Coming to America. She made history as the first Black woman to win an Oscar for Best Costume Design, earning her first statue for Black Panther and a second for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Currently an Academy Award nominee for Sinners, Carter continues to push boundaries and redefine possibilities in fashion and film.
Her visionary approach blends historical authenticity with contemporary innovation, creating iconic looks that transcend the screen. Woodbury University celebrates Carter’s extraordinary contributions to the arts and her enduring impact on the fashion industry.
