WSOA Announces 2020 Fall Appointments

Woodbury School of Architecture is proud to announce the school’s new administrative team:

Jose Parral continues to serve as Chair of the San Diego programs and to manage the San Diego campus. Parral is a designer and educator whose research explores temporal relationships between human occupations in public spaces and the performance of the human body in relation to the urban environment.

Christoph Korner will continue to serve as Chair of the undergraduate and graduate Interior Design programs. He has been a part of GRAFT, an award winning design firm with offices in Los Angeles, Berlin and Beijing, and continues to teach at Woodbury.

Heather Flood will serve as Chair for our BArch and MArch programs in Los Angeles. Flood is a designer of information, graphics, and architecture. Her work integrates the disciplines and techniques of cultural research, graphic art, and architectural design to create experientially dense environments.

Aaron Gensler will serve as Assistant Chair for our BArch and MArch programs in Los Angeles. Aaron is an architect, educator, and thought leader working in Los Angeles. Recently she formed GenslerClipp, an architecture, design and research practice based in southern California.

Mark Ericson will serve as the new chair of the Applied Computer Science – Media Arts program. His research and teaching focus on the relationship between historical practices of representation and contemporary developments in the discipline. Mark brings extensive experience in program leadership, student advising, curriculum building, recruiting and teaching excellence.

Dr. Branka Olson has been appointed Assessment Officer and will work with chairs on assessment and accreditation processes for all of our programs. She has a PhD in Management and Designing Sustainable Systems, is founding principal of Sindik Olson Associates specializing in experiential workplace consulting.

Sean Joyner will join the School as Special Projects Coordinator to help lead alumni mentoring programs as well as chairing the reformed Design Justice Committee. He is a writer for Archinect, and previously worked as a designer at NAC.

Linda Taalman will serve as a Coordinator for the Building track of the Architecture program, working with chairs Heather and Jose on oversight of the Architecture curricula to prepare for the next NAAB visit.

Dr. Anthony Fontenot will serve as a Coordinator for the Criticism track of the Architecture program on oversight of the Architecture curricula to prepare for the next NAAB visit.

Megan Groth will serve as a Coordinator for the Practice track of the Architecture program on oversight of the Architecture curricula to prepare for the next NAAB visit.
