Director of Communications
Sean Joyner is an independent writer based in Los Angeles. His essays and articles explore themes from history, pop culture, and philosophy and how they connect to the practice of architecture. His most recent research and work explores the importance of narrative and story in architectural experience and discourse. He is an adjunct faculty member and Director of Communications for the School of Architecture. Sean is a former editor and staff writer at Archinect. Prior to his writing career, he worked in traditional practice, specializing in k-12 and higher education projects in Southern California. Some of the things Sean enjoys are playing and practicing chess, studying obscure topics like quantum physics and cryptography, working out, and reading compelling books.
