Spotlight on David Manikad, Alumnus and Real Estate Agent

It’s fair to say that Woodbury School of Business student, David Manikad, has been busy. After earning his BBA in Management in 2020, David turned his energies toward earning his MBA with concentrations in Global Strategy and Leadership, while simultaneously studying to become a licensed real estate agent. Now, with real estate license in hand and MBA impending, David recently accepted a realtor position with eXp Realty and serves as the vice-chair of The Burbank Young Professionals. We asked him to share reflections on his time at Woodbury and professional accomplishments.

“First and foremost, I would like to give all praise and thanks to Dr. Marques for all her nurturing guidance and support.  Since my first semester at Woodbury University, she has been my North Star. Next, I would like to acknowledge Professor Bendoni for always being down-to-earth and offering open lines of communication with me.  Last but not least, the amazing professors I have had along the way that have added to my toolbox, skillset and knowledge.

While finishing the MBA coursework I simultaneously studied for the California Real Estate Salesperson exam.  Upon receiving my Salesperson license, I planned to learn the ins and outs of the real estate industry to get a better outlook as I plan to add these assets to my portfolio.  I have been told before that you should “become the person you needed as a child” or “the person you will need for your future.”  As I step into the role as a realtor for eXp Realty I have kept this wisdom in mind.  I want to help the masses achieve their goal of owning a home of their own, while helping others grow their net worth.

As I plan to pursue different business ventures, I knew that real estate was something I wanted to have under my belt. Thomas Baron has been a source of my inspiration to pursue a career in real estate.  After crossing paths with Mr. Baron and learning of his story, through my involvement with the Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization (CEO), I look to pay it forward and inspire future generations by generously giving back to the Woodbury University community as he has.”

The School of Business congratulates David on this wonderful accomplishment!
