Marketing Alum Armen Zabounian Wins Grammy

Armen Zabounian (BBA Marketing, 2012) has produced the track “Boiled Peanuts” on Doechii’s album “Alligator Bites Never Heal”, which has won a Grammy Award in the category Best Rap Album. Zabounian is professionally known as Peyote Beats, and rightfully considers this award an important milestone to his growing career.

In his role as music producer, Zabounian has collaborated with numerous artists across pop, R&B, and rap, including Tyga, Doechii, French Montana, Jhene Aiko, Pop Smoke, Trippie Redd, Roy Woods, Kalan.frfr, Mozzy, 6ix9ine, and more.

In an interview with Zartonk Media, an Armenian media platform, Zabounian said,

“Winning a Grammy is a dream come true, but representing my Armenian roots on this stage makes it even more special. Growing up, I never saw many Armenians in this space, so to be here now, contributing to music at the highest level, is something I take a lot of pride in. This is for the culture, for the community, and for everyone chasing their passion. I feel we as Armenians have so much to offer to the rest of the world as far as art so I hope this win can inspire fellow Armenians to make their mark in pop culture as well”.

Having earned his BBA in Marketing in 2012, Zabounian still lives in Los Angeles, performing as a music producer and songwriter. Having earned this award underscores the exceptional talents of Armen Zabounian, and Woodbury University’s School of Business congratulates him on this major success!
