San Diego architecture student Arturo Vilchis (B.Arch ’22) has recently launched a new business in San Diego. Called Picnic Voyage, the enterprise offers customers boat picnic services where two people can enjoy a boat ride and picnic through the Otay Lake Reservoir in San Diego.
Within days of launching the business, rides were fully booked for over the next few weeks, and Arturo is excited at what lies ahead. The project began when a relative gifted Arturo an old boat. He partnered up with his friend and Picnic Voyage co-founder Carlos Ortega and worked on the boat for months in his garage.
Arturo used his design background to design custom chairs, a table, and rehabilitate the boat as a whole, to create a unique experience for his future customers. To learn more and book a ride, please visit the business’s website.
