Linda Taalman Restores Kristen Wiig’s Silver Lake Midcentury Home

Architect and faculty member Linda Taalman recently completed the renovation and restoration of former Saturday Night Live star Kristen Wiig’s Midcentury house in Silver Lake. Built in 1952, the home was originally designed by Albert P. Martin as his own residence.

Taalman’s restoration respected the home’s sweeping reservoir views with its floor-to-ceiling glass and outdoor patios. The four bed, four bath home features a new 1,000-square-foot poolside addition with guest quarters, a studio, and a sauna, while the original floor plan for the main residence remains untouched. The 3,515-square-foot property rests atop a hillside terrain, and Taalman preserved the original elements of the home while upgrading the facilities to meet modern needs.
