After graduating from Victoria University of Wellington School of Architecture with Bachelor degrees in Building Science and Architecture, Prentice spent close to twelve years at Gehry Partners, eventually becoming the Director of Information Management. Prentice later joined Gensler and would become a Firmwide Design Process Analyst, co-leading research on two grants related to design process. Prentice was also a co-organizer of the first Design Process Innovation symposium at the Los Angeles A+D Museum.
