WSOA graduate Khun Hein (B.Arch ’21) was recently featured in Archinect’s 2021 Thesis Review series. Archinect’s series looks at the work of students from several schools of architecture across the country. Hein is the first student to be interviewed in the series and discusses his project, WATER INFRA-CULTURE, throughout the piece.
“Droughts are a significant concern in the present and future, which is exacerbated by ongoing climate change,” Hein explains in the interview. “Extracting underground water from aquifers in desert conditions is necessary for humans to adapt to the changes we are experiencing in our climate […] My thesis raises ethical questions and challenges our assumptions about its capability.”
