Farzaneh Akhavan Tabatabaei Wins 2021 IDEC Foundation Graduate Scholar Award

Graduate Interior Design student Farzaneh Akhavan Tabatabaei has won one of the 2021 IDEC Foundation Graduate Scholar Awards from the Interior Design Educators Council Foundation. The IDECF has been supporting graduate students through scholarships to participate in the annual IDEC conference for more than a decade. Supporting graduate students to become the next generation of design educators is a key objective of IDECF.

This grant, distributed through the IDEC Foundation, provides travel funding to interior design graduate students who desire to become interior design educators to participate in the IDEC Annual Conference. Each scholarship will equal the cost of graduate student registration for the Annual IDEC Conference in 2021. The Foundation awarded up to $3,000 to the graduate students selected this year.

IDECF invests in interior design education, research, and leadership to advance the design profession and improve the human experience in the designed environment. The IDEC Foundation is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization whose primary goal is to support the objectives of the Interior Design Educators Council and to advance the profession by supporting educational, research, and creative opportunities for educators and students. Maintaining IDEC’s leadership in the field of interior design education rests, in part, on our ability to sustain a solid financial foundation.
