Woodbury faculty members Bojána Bányász and Donatella Cusmá of the LA design office Claret-Cup have been chosen to collaborate with the Los Angeles Forum for Architecture and Urban Design and Modernica in occasion of FORUMFEST2017, the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Los Angeles Forum for Architecture and Urban Design. A Limited series of the iconic Case Study® Chairs with graphics designed by Claret-Cup will be sold to help fund the Forum’s many cultural activities.
LA Forum announced the limited-edition collaboration chair in two eye-catching colors: Sunset and Night. Claret Cup’s drawing collage, “The City Contained . . .” was created for the LA Forum’s 2016 Fall Newsletter, in which the designers described it as “the city of Los Angeles conceived as an interior landscape.” Here, combined with Modernica’s sleek fabrication methods, the drawing comes to life again, in spectacular detail. Modernica is the only manufacturer that produces the Case Study Fiberglass Shell Chairs with the production process intended by Charles and Ray Eames. The chairs are limited-edition only and will be available from now until ForumFest 2017 on Saturday November 4, where the chairs will be made during the event.
Bojána and Donatella are practicing architects who are contributing to the human-made environment as much by drawing and building as by photographing, stitching, teaching, cooking and curating. They collaborate in the firm, Claret-Cup and are licensed to provide architectural services in California and in Italy. Find out more about Claret-Cup online.
