The university announces, with great sadness, the passing of one of our students, Malik Peterson. He passed away on Thursday, October 31 as a result of a motorcycle accident.
Malik came to Woodbury the start of the fall 2019 semester, studying in the School of Architecture. He had previously attended Palomar College for one year prior transferring to Woodbury. In addition, Malik proudly served in the United States Marine Corps as an Aviation Maintenance Data Specialist. While in the Marines, he was stationed in Iwakuni, Japan.
Though he was with us for just a short time, when we lose any member of our community we feel a great sense a loss. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his friends and family.
Student Affairs and the Counseling Center will be sending out information to the Woodbury community soon regarding counseling services and a campus vigil. In addition, information about services will be provided as it becomes available from his family.
