Shaun Cullen is a freelance writer, researcher, and teacher. In addition to teaching game design and other topics at Woodbury, he currently teaches game writing online for the University of Delaware. He holds a Ph.D. in English from the University of Virginia. He has published articles on music and new media in the Journal of Popular Music Studies, Criticism, and the edited volume Hardcore Research. He has an essay forthcoming in the edited volume The Lyrical Taylor Swift. He previously taught media studies, literature, and composition at Middle Tennessee State University; California State University, Northridge; and the University of Virginia.
