Dr. Samuel Sambasivam is a Professor and Chair of Computer Science in Data Analytics in the College of Liberal Arts (CoLA) at Woodbury University. He is a Title V HSI-CS Grant Computer Science Data Analytics Specialist. Dr. Sambasivam joined Woodbury University (WU) in 2020.

Dr. Sambasivam has served in higher education for over 35 years, both face-to-face and online education, in numerous roles, including department chair and program manager. He directed the regional Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) Programming Contest for six years at Missouri Western State University.

Dr. Sambasivam served as a distinguished visiting professor (DVP) of computer science at the United States Air Force Academy during the 2008–09 and 2016-17 academic years, and interim associate dean of College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) at Azusa Pacific University (APU) in 2004–05.

Dr. Sambasivam has done extensive research, written for publications, and given presentations in computer science, information technology, and mathematics. Dr. Sambasivam is a Senior Voting Member of the ACM and served as an associate editor and a Board member for Information Systems Education Journal (ISEJ), and is a referee for ACM’s Special Interest Group (SIGCSE) conferences, Informing Science and IT Education Conferences (INSITE), Information Systems Education Conference (ISECON) conferences, and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)Transactions on Computers. Dr. Sambasivam’s current research interests include Big Data Analytics, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, E-learning Technologies, Software Engineering, Client/Server Applications, Genetic Algorithms, and XML Database Applications.
