Join Woodbury School of Architecture for our End of Year Celebration with chef Roy Choi and architect Barbara Bestor on Friday, May 8th. The event begins at 3:30pm with an online Degree Project and Thesis Roundtable discussion by our faculty and showcasing student work from the 2019-2020 academic year. At 5pm, we will host a live stream Q&A with Roy and Barbara on YouTube as part of our award ceremony celebrating our graduating students.
In 2010, Food and Wine named him Best New Chef. His cookbook/memoir L.A. Son was a NY Times Bestseller in 2013. He was included in the 2016 TIME 100 Most Influential People in the World list. And in 2017, LocoL received the first ever LA Times Restaurant of the Year award. Roy resides in Los Angeles where he is the co-owner, co-founder, and chef of Kogi BBQ, Chego!, A-Frame, Commissary, POT and LocoL.
The varied, creative, and aesthetically progressive body of work expands the territory of architecture into atmospheric urbanism. Recent projects include the Silverlake Conservatory of Music, which creates a vibrant musical haven by inserting an internal urban village within the shell of a classic Hollywood warehouse, Ashes & Diamonds, a new winery and event center in Napa, and headquarters for multiple high tech firms.
