Last week, students traveled to Calais, France, where they were active volunteers in a warehouse run by four British and French NGO’s sorting donations and cooking meals for the 1,000+ migrants and refugees that have slowly wandered back to The Jungle, France’s infamous refugee camp at the mouth of the Eurotunnel. Students were asked for recommendations on improvements to the warehouse building and its internal workflow.
Currently, students are in Nice, France, exploring the new “Italian Calais” that is appearing at France’s southern border. Next week, they return to Paris for site analysis and a mid-review presentation of their findings. The Paris travel studio returns July 11 to Woodbury.
