Biology and Botany from Yosemite to Los Angeles

Biology professor Phil Pack led a group of Woodbury students on his annual trip through Yosemite Valley. They hiked to the top of Vernal Fall, crept through the tunnels of the Spider and Indian Caves, and viewed El Capitan meadow from the top of its terminal moraine. Professor Pack’s classes also explored nature in our own urban backyard. In early April, they visited the Huntington Library and Botanical Gardens, exploring the amazing variety of plants in the desert, jungle, and Australian gardens, surveying the Japanese and Chinese gardens, and experiencing the simulated environments of a tropical rain forest and a bog. Yes, they did get wet, but no one was lost in the bog.
