Woodbury interior architecture student Justin Jakubisn has been awarded a $5,000 scholarship from the NEWH LA Founding Chapter. Justin will also receive a paid trip to Miami to participate in the NEWH Leadership conference in February. The award was presented at this year’s NEWH annual scholarship gala Lost at Sea on October, 20th 2018 in Marina Del Rey, California. Chapter scholarships are awarded based on a combination of merit and need, and recognize a student’s career objective within a hospitality related field.
Today, NEWH is focused on Scholarship, Education, and Business Networking. The NEWH By-laws state one of the objectives of NEWH is to promote scholarship, education and interest in the Hospitality Industry and related fields. To that end, NEWH, Inc. and its chapters are tasked with fundraising to provide scholarship dollars for eligible students wishing to enter the Hospitality Industry. NEWH LA has given 340+ scholarships totaling $774,168 over the years.
