Alan Ramiro Manning, a 5th year architecture student at Woodbury School of Architecture, recently saw his first commission piece being installed at NY Bagel Co. in Brentwood.
Manning, who is graduating this spring, is happy to see his work, a New York skyline, vinyl printed at 2’x9′ at the deli counter in the Los Angeles bake shop.
The collaboration came about coincidentally as Manning describes, “Usually when I go out to eat I pull out my pocket sketch book to quickly sketch my surroundings to pass the time. In this unique case, the owner of the café noticed my sketch of his restaurant and was so impressed that he asked to have one of my works displayed to cover their old deli window. I thought the New York skyline would fit perfectly in the proportions of the window and reflect the theme of the café. The original is 10″x42″ ink and watercolor, while the vinyl print for the café is larger.”
