Please join us on Friday, April 30th from 5-6 pm for a celebration of our graduating thesis students as well as selected work from ACS-Media Arts spring studios. Student videos, game assets, objects, and experiences will be displayed in a virtual environment modeled after the former WUHO gallery of the School of Architecture. It will be a fun and interactive event that can be experienced on a headset, on a computer, or through a mobile device.

Germane Barnes is one of the featured artists in Reconstructions: Architecture and Blackness in America, a new exhibition on view at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) beginning this February. Germane’s work investigates the connection between architecture and identity and the social and political agency inherent in architectural practice. He is an Assistant Professor and the Director of The Community Housing & Identity Lab (CHIL) at the University of Miami School of Architecture.
Cheryal Kearny’s career as a set decorator has spanned over 40 years, including winning an Emmy Award for her role on the film “Gaugin, The Savage.” She is credited in over 50 films and television series. In 2017, she was recognized with the Earl Cooperman Lifetime Achievement Award from the Set Decorators Society of America. She continues to do small projects and shows with friends and filmmakers.
Yvonne is a licensed architect in the state of California and a third-generation resident of Leucadia California. With 20 years of experience in design and construction, she takes pride in her work, her craft, her family, and her community. Yvonne earned her B.Arch. from Woodbury University in 2004 and began her work experience in 1999 while earning her degree. Her mentorship in various offices and hands-on experience gave her a diverse design background in commercial, retail, and residential projects.
Matthew Gonzalez is a creative developer, designer, and programmer working at the intersection of art and technology. Matthew’s work has ranged from research and testing of various hardware/software protocols, graphic design and layout in 2D and 3D, computer programming, GUI design and implementation, and virtual reality tool design and testing. Recently, Matthew has been able to contribute to projects under corporate entities such as Intel, Disney, and Amazon, many times designing and programming user interfaces and other custom tools using TouchDesigner and Python.
