President's Message on Graduation: April 9,2020

Dear Class of 2020,

I hope you and your families are doing well during these stressful times. I wanted to update you about Commencement.

I know you have worked hard to graduate with a degree in your respective disciplines. As you know, in my March 17th announcement to the campus community, I emphasized the importance of a commencement ceremony, and indicated that we would be reviewing alternative ways to celebrate your achievements. We are still in the process of discussions how best to recognize your accomplishments in a celebratory way.

I can assure you of one thing: there will be a commencement for the Class of 2020, and it will be an in-person ceremony, not virtual. However, given the current conditions around the Country, we are not able to schedule it and announce a date. As soon as it becomes possible for everything to be rescheduled, we will make plans and announce it.

Please continue focusing on your academic and employment goals and know that your success will be celebrated in the best way possible.

Stay safe and healthy,

David Steele-Figueredo, Ph.D.
