According to the USDA, roughly 1 in 7 Americans experiences food insecurity—a lack of consistent access to enough food for an active, healthy life. The negative impacts of food insecurity on both physical and emotional health are well documented and range from anemia and asthma to aggression and suicidal ideation.
At Woodbury University, we believe that no student should ever need to worry about where their next meal is coming from. That’s why we are pleased to introduce the Food for Thought program which provides meals to students who struggle with food insecurity. The program may provide as many as 5 free meals a week at a nearby eatery.
Students struggling with food insecurity can learn more about this program by visiting this page, and contacting our CARE team to make a completely confidential submission. To donate to the program, fill out the form below.
