Dr. Theresa Billiot is an associate professor of marketing. She holds a Ph.D. in mass communication with a cognate in marketing from Texas Tech University, an MBA in marketing from Florida Atlantic University, a M.A. in mass communications and media arts from Southern Illinois University, and a B.A. in mass communications with a minor in marketing from Nicholls State University.
Dr. Billiot teaches undergraduate courses including, but not limited to, Sustainability Marketing, Strategic Marketing, and Marketing Research and Analysis, and she also teaches the MBA course of Marketing Concepts and Strategies. Her research interests are entertainment and humor marketing, empathy and well-being in marketing, and public policy with a focus on advocacy for legislation.
Prior to joining academia, Dr. Billiot’s professional experience includes working as a New Business Development Executive with the National Hockey League’s Florida Panthers and as a Solutions Manager for Clear Channel Radio in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale market.
She is a published author and has presented at numerous conferences including the Academy of Marketing Science, Society for Marketing Advances, Marketing Educators Association, Marketing Management Association, and American Marketing Association and Public Policy.
Currently, Dr. Billiot serves as California’s 28th Congressional District Leader for the Humane Society of the United States.
