Teri Thompson is an award-winning advertising, promotions and social media strategist, adjunct professor, author, and international public speaker specializing in social media, communication, digital media and marketing for entertainment, education, automotive, retail, government, start-ups, NGOs, and the luxury leisure industry. She has held creative and executive positions at Disney/ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox Sports Net where she won awards for launching stars, series, movies, stations, and networks. She has developed sales marketing partnerships with, Audi, McDonald’s, General Motors, Toyota, Coors, Microsoft, Dominos, Nokia, Victoria’s Secret, and other major brands.
In addition to her adjunct professor position at Woodbury University, Thompson has presented domestically and internationally at the Harvard Faculty Club, USC, UCLA Extension, Hanze University, The Netherlands, Jos University, Nigeria, Halifax College, Canada, the University of Havana, Cuba and the International Business School Austria, Vienna. Thompson has also conducted social media marketing presentations for Mercedes-Benz/China executives, government officials from Jiangsu Province, China and a webinar for professionals in Moscow, Russia. She created and oversaw a humanitarian project in conjunction with War Child, Bishop Desmond TuTu’s Peace Center and both Hanze and Woodbury Universities by developing a video game to help children heal from post-traumatic stress suffered in war-torn regions of Sudan.
Thompson is the co-author of The Power of Real-Time Social Media Marketing by McGraw-Hill Professional. She can be heard as a social media subject matter expert on KNX Radio in Los Angeles.
