Marty Tippens received his Ed.D in Educational Leadership from Cal State University Northridge in 2014 and his master of science in mathematics also at Cal State University Northridge in 2001. He taught at several Southern California colleges, including L.A. Valley College, Glendale College, Oxnard College, and Cal State University Northridge where he was awarded the Outstanding Graduate Teaching Associate in May of 2002.Marty has been teaching full time at Woodbury University since the fall of 2003 and is also the chair of the Math Department there. He has presented papers on the teaching of developmental mathematics at the AMS Conference, Regional Conference on College Teaching at Occidental College. He has also collaborated with CSUN STEM educators in researching the effectiveness of cloud technologies in classroom formative assessment applications. On this topic, he has presented papers at science education conferences and authored a book chapter published in 2014. At Woodbury, he has designed various math curricula for a diverse disciplines including business, architecture, design, and media technologies.
