Katie Dobkowski

Visiting Associate Professor and Chair, Environmental Studies

Dr. Katie Dobkowski is a marine ecologist and scientific scuba diver and snorkeler who loves all things photosynthetic. She realized that she wanted to study the ocean as a career (especially bull kelp, the *best* kelp) while taking a field course all about marine algae in between finishing her undergraduate degree and starting a Ph.D. program at the University of Washington. She incorporates community engagement into both her teaching and her research and is very excited to develop an interdisciplinary curriculum in the new Environmental Science major while exploring exciting opportunities in southern California to help immerse Woodbury students in both terrestrial and marine habitats.
