Jared’s background is in library technology and in performing arts libraries. At Woodbury, he is responsible for managing and evolving the library’s online services and technology systems; these systems include the research databases, catalog, and library website. He is also the subject librarian for Animation, Applied Computer Science, Computer Science in Data Analytics, Game Art & Design, Graphic Design, Math and Science. He teaches LSCI 105: Information Theory and Practice, for which he has developed a new suite of gamified, interactive online assignments designed to engage students in learning about research in all its forms. He is dedicated to showing students how they can leverage the research process to their advantage in any career, particularly in the commercial and entertainment design disciplines. Jared’s other professional interests include library gamification and creating more intuitive and engaging search interfaces for discovering library resources.
