SUMMARY:Parallel Universes | The 59th Annual Fashion Runway Benefit
DESCRIPTION:Parallel universe: (in fantasy or science fiction) a world conceives of as coexisting with and having certain similarities to the known world but different from it in some fundamental way. (Oxford Dictionary)  \n“Art/design is the ability to objectively consider ideas that contradict each other”. Parallel design is the process of designing several solutions for the same design problem. The idea is to explore multiple options and approaches to produce more valuable outputs.   \n\n In our exploration of the theme Parallel Universes\, we will not only be looking at multiple options and approaches\, but we will also look at parallels from both a formal and conceptual perspectives. What happens when we use contrasting perspectives and concepts together? What happens when we use the elements and variables of design to create contrast\, emphasis\, and dynamic form within the figure ground relationship? And this year\, in collaboration with the Fashion Design Department\, we’ll examine the above in relation to human body as well.  \nThis exploration culminates in our 59th Annual Fashion Runway benefit which will take place May 9th\, 2024 starting at 7:00pm at the Alex Theatre in Glendale\, CA. Tickets for the event are now available! Get yours today! \nBUY TICKETS \nSponsorship purchases made before the end of the year can be applied to this years taxes. \nDonate Now \nTickets for the 59th Annual Woodbury University Fashion Runway Benefit “Parallel Universes\,” will be available soon! \nFor any questions please reach out to us via email at fashionshow@woodbury.edu. \nAlumni Honorees\n\n\n\n \nFashion Entrepreneur of the Year\nBrittany Diego (Class of 2016) \nForbes 30 Under 30; fashion stylist; fashion mentor turned fashion career coach!
