Anthony Cortez Virtual Lecture

Join us for a virtual lecture with Anthony Cortez, an Experiential Technologist at ARUP Los Angeles. In “Connecting the Dots: Digital Technologies and Visual Storytelling,” Anthony will present some of the latest digital tools he uses to design, test, and communicate civil, buildings, and consulting projects. They include the convergence of Architecture, Video Game Technologies & Hollywood Visual Effects.

Anthony Cortez is the Arup Visualization Leader in the Americas Region. He joined Arup in 2003 and provides a broad range of digital, lighting, and experiential design projects. With a background in animation production coupled with high-profile international project experience, Anthony brings to life cutting-edge solutions for his clients through a collaborative design process.

As a lighting designer, he specializes in-room lighting analysis, material reflection, lighting design, and environmental lighting assessments. His lighting consulting experience includes the design of performing art centers, museums, and residential property. As an experiential designer, Anthony integrates with other Arup disciplines to produce Augmented and Virtual Reality environments with validated lighting studies, acoustic, pedestrian/vehicle & fire simulations. He provides key foresight in the ongoing development of the Arup Experience Lab and is actively involved in the design of Augmented/Virtual Reality environments and BIM (building information modeling) software tools to support the multidisciplinary design process for the built environment.
