Here you can find all the information you need to get started at Woodbury.  Below you can learn more about and register for Placement Exams and Student Orientation, Advising, and Registration (SOAR).

Note: a SOAR fee will be charged to your student account.

Placement Exams

For Fall 2020 Admitted Students

  1. Effective starting with the incoming class of Fall 2020, the Writing Placement Exam is no longer required.  To understand the Writing courses you will need to take and have the opportunity to transfer out of, see the Writing Placement & Sequence of Courses document
  2. To understand if you need to register for the Math Placement Exam, please see the Mathematics Placement document
  • Placement exams must be taken before your SOAR date. You will NOT be permitted to attend SOAR if you have not satisfied your placement exam requirement.
  • Students must register in advance; walk-ins cannot be accommodated.
  • Students must check-in on time; late arrivals cannot be accommodated.
  • Placement exams dates are subject to change.
  • For Spring, both Math and Writing exams are offered on all placement exam testing days.
  • Students are given 45-minutes to complete each exam, unless other accommodations have been approved by Disabilities and Accessibility Services.

If you need accommodations, appropriate documentation verifying your disability must be provided to Disabilities and Accessibility Services no later than 5 business days before the testing date. This documentation could be satisfied by submitting a copy of your Individualized Education Plan (IEP), doctor’s verification, notice of approved accommodation, or approval letter from College Board or ACT. Attending Student Orientation, Advising, and Registration (SOAR) is required of all newly admitted students. SOAR helps prepare you for college life and shares with you the array of support services available from your new campus community. Note: a SOAR fee will be charged to your account.

If you need to take placement exams, please make sure you register for and take them before your SOAR date; you will NOT be permitted to attend SOAR if you have not satisfied your placement exam requirement
