The purpose of the Friends of the Library is to focus attention on the needs of today’s library and raise money for library resources, library services, library facilities, and library technologies.

For over ten years, the Woodbury University Friends of the Library has sponsored a series of lectures. The fall lecture features the presentation of the Ray Bradbury Creativity Award, named for the famed author of the science-fiction classics Fahrenheit 451 and The Martian Chronicles. The award recipient was determined by Mr. Bradbury each year, along with the input of the Friends of the Library Board.
