Computer Requirements



PLACEMENT PORTFOLIO REQUIREMENTS

Incoming freshman students are encouraged to provide a portfolio but submission is optional.

PLACEMENT PORTFOLIO REQUIREMENTS

Transfer students must submit a portfolio of their work for studio placement. Include all samples from your studio construction courses and a variety of samples of your design work and drawings, along with a copy of your transcript.  For further information, contact Kathryn Hagen, Fashion Design Chair, at kathryn.hagen@woodbury.edu.

Fashion Design Department
The Fashion Design Department accepts credits that articulate with the following Woodbury University courses:

  • FOUN 101 Beginning Drawing
  • FOUN 102 Design and Color 1
  • FOUN 103 Design and Color 2
  • FOUN 104 Drawing and Composition
  • GDES 250 Digital Photography
  • ARTH Art History (any two Art History courses can be transferred)
  • ARTH Art History
  • Art or Design Elective

Transfer students must have a minimum of 24 units to transfer to Woodbury University. An AA degree is not required or necessary. It is suggested that students take a combination of both design and general education courses at the community college, including Math, English and the Design Foundation courses. COMPUTER REQUIREMENT
It is not required, but it will be beneficial, for students to have a laptop computer that can run both Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.

  • Strongly recommended: Premium quality laser or ink jet printer – up to 11x17 or 13x19 paper size; Canon brand recommended

Students are responsible for email and ISP accounts; student-owned computers used on campus must have a network, and/or wireless card, depending on where the computer will be used.
