Animation & Graphic Design
Woodbury University animation seniors Manuel Grijalva, Kryzzalia Lopez, Aileen Ung, and graphic design senior Mario Salazar made it to the final round of Disney’s ImagiNations Design Competition with their concept, “Genie’s Magic Carpet Tours.” These School of Media, Culture & Design students submitted a design for an Aladdin-inspired ride,“The Cave of Wonders.” Genie’s Magic Carpet Tours is a thrilling ride into the heart of the Cave of Wonders, inspired by the Aladdin motion picture. The competition enables participants to showcase their talents and gain practical knowledge in design, win monetary awards, and be considered for internship opportunities. This year’s competition asked students to consider their knowledge about Disney parks and resorts and Walt Disney Imagineering, and how the marketplace and guests are changing around the world. Their charge was to design a unique, diverse, and creative experience that maximizes enjoyment for Disney’s guests.
