The Writing Center

The Writing Center offers peer tutoring services at all stages of the writing process. Student writing “coaches” help students find ideas, refine thesis statements, organize their thoughts, use correct documentation and format, understand the strengths and weaknesses of a draft, and learn how to edit and proofread their
own work.

Tutorial Options
TWC offers students two kinds of tutorials:

In-Person Tutorials
Visit TWC and receive a half-hour one-on-one “coaching” session with a peer writing tutor. To schedule an in-person tutorial, you have three options:

  1. Use TWC’s Online Scheduler.
  2. Call TWC at (818) 252-5232.
  3. Drop by TWC in person.

TWC does its best to serve walk-in appointments on a space-available basis.

Online Tutorials
Maybe you are working off campus or can’t find the time to visit TWC. Maybe you just prefer working remotely. To send your writing project to TWC  with a description of the assignment and what kind of feedback you would like to receive, click here.  You will receive supportive  feedback from an online “coach” within 24 hours.
